Dog Day Afternoon
See Emmy Award winner Jon Bernthal (The Odyssey, The Bear) and two-time Emmy Award winner Ebon Moss-Bachrach (The Fantastic Four: First Steps, The Bear) star in this gripping new play based on the classic film Dog Day Afternoon. Written by Pulitzer Prize winner Stephen Adly Guirgis (Between Riverside and Crazy), Dog Day Afternoon begins performances in spring 2026 for a strictly limited Broadway engagement.
The legendary true-crime story that captivated audiences in the acclaimed film now comes to life on stage as a tense, pulse-pounding theatrical event. The production is inspired by the Life article “The Boys in the Bank” by P. F. Kluge and Thomas Moore. The story recounts the dramatic 1972 bank robbery and hostage crisis led by John Wojtowicz and Salvatore Naturile at a Chase Manhattan Bank branch in Brooklyn.
Now, experience the electrifying story of Dog Day Afternoon live on Broadway for the very first time.
